Susie’s November Newsletter (Cheese Pork!)
Dear Crook’s Family,
There is a lot going on this time of year: basketball, holiday shopping, visiting family and friends, so I will keep my letter to you brief.
The time has come, and I’m here to tell you: It’s Cheese Pork! season, y’all. The weather has finally made us start to crave that perfectly decadent assembly of cheese, and pork, and sauce— it really is an unbeatable fall meal. It is worth taking note that this will not be on the menu as long as usual. Starting tomorrow it will only be around for a couple of weeks, so don’t wait too long to get your fix, okay?
Some other menu items that must not be missed are the NC Sea Trout with arugula pesto, peppers and hearty local greens from La Finca farm in Cedar Grove, and the Smoked Chicken Terrine served with house made hot sauce, and pickles.
Please come by to look over the brilliant sculptures that Mark Elliot hung on our walls this month. It has been a couple of years since we’ve had any of his work here, and I am so happy to see it back. Up through all of November!
The Crook’s Corner Book Prize has announced its Shortlist! The winner will be chosen by National Book Award-winning novelist Charles Frazier and announced in January. The winner will receive a $5,000 grand prize and is entitled to a free glass of wine every day for a year at Crook’s.
Gather your family and friends for our Thanksgiving Eve Supper Club, Wednesday, November 27th at 6 pm.

December Supper Club will take place on New Year’s Eve. Though we do not have the menu entirely mapped out yet, I can guarantee that this will be a fantastic way to bring 2019 to a close. Expect more information next week.
Thank you for your continued friendship and patronage. As always, you are why we do what we do.
